Do you have a collection of used games gathering dust in the attic or basement? We make it easy to turn old discs and cartridges into cash. This is true whether you are a long-time collector or a parent clearing out space.
Don't get stuck in the "store credit" trap. Many websites and big-box retailers offer trade-in "points" or store credit to lure you in. It seems like a great offer, but there's a catch: you must spend that credit in their store. There, retro video games are often 30% to 40% overpriced.
At The Old School Game Vault, you should spend your money wherever you want. We offer an easy mail-in service nationwide. You'll get fair-market cash for your collection.
We've satisfied thousands of customers across the country since 2008 and maintain an A+ rating with the BBB.
No store credit traps. We pay real money you can spend anywhere.
Skip listings, photos, and dealing with strangers. Get an offer in seconds.
Trusted since 2008. We explain our pricing so you always know what you're getting.
Simple, secure mail-in service for customers across the United States.
We buy retro video games and consoles by mail, no matter the platform. Here's a look at what recently came through our doors, and some of the hard to find games we are always looking to buy.

Yes, The Old School Game Vault is legit and has been operating online since 2008. We've bought and sold several million dollars' worth of used video games over our 15+ years in business. We're accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating and have a 4.99 rating on Trustpilot, plus several hundred verified reviews posted right here on our website.
Our database starts with the Nintendo NES as the oldest system we buy, and includes every major Nintendo console since, including the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo Switch, along with handhelds like the Game Boy family, Nintendo DS, and 3DS. We also buy other major brands like Sega, PlayStation, and Microsoft Xbox, currently including the PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4, plus handhelds.
We buy many rare and hard-to-find video games and systems too, including Atari Jaguar, Atari Jaguar CD, Atari Lynx, Panasonic 3DO, Philips CD-i, TurboGrafx-16, TurboGrafx-CD, and Neo Geo Pocket, among others.
We ask that cartridge games be free of heavy stickers, markings, or writing, and that the game label be clear and not torn. Games with excessive soiling, an excessive number of stickers or writing, or torn labels will be rejected.
All disc games need to include the original game disc, artwork, manual, and case. We don't buy loose games or games with third-party artwork, and game discs should be free from heavy scratches. We also don't buy buffed or resurfaced discs, or any games with data rot or foil label damage. We don't buy any orders that smell of cigarette smoke.
All consoles and controllers should be fully functional, as should AC adapters, memory cards, and any other accessories. This is How we grade video games.
Yes, we buy retro video games from customers in all 50 states through our nationwide mail-in service.
Start by searching for your games, consoles, and accessories using our search tool, or by name. For every console we buy, we have a separate game-selling page with every game listed in alphabetical order, along with our current trade-in price. Here is a full breakdown How to sell video games with The Old School Game Vault.
Consoles and accessories work the same way, with a separate page for each. Most accessories and controllers can be sold separately, while consoles are bought in bundles. Each console page describes what's required for the full bundle price, and if you're missing any items, you can select a radio button to have that item deducted from the total.
Once we receive your trade-in, we'll inspect it and verify its condition. If everything checks out, there's nothing more you need to do, we'll follow up once your order is processing and let you know when to expect payment. If your order doesn't match our condition or quality requirements, you'll receive an email with next steps.
The online trade-in process can take up to 3 to 4 days. If your package arrives on a weekend or holiday, we'll notify you the next business day.
Yes. If your order totals $100 or more, we'll email you a free shipping label. Once your order is submitted, we'll manually send an order confirmation email with your shipping label attached. We send confirmation emails in batches to keep things spaced out.
We pay cash. You can choose PayPal, Zelle, check, or eGift card. We don't play games with promises, and we never offer inflated store credit as a payment method.
We'll test each and every item in your order for functionality and ensure it meets our quality requirements. Once that's complete, we'll issue payment.
Yes, your free prepaid shipping label includes USPS tracking so you can follow your package until it arrives. Just write down the tracking number on the shipping label and enter it at USPS.com.
Yes, there's no membership or subscription required to sell to us. You get a quote, ship your games, and get paid, with no ongoing fees or annoying sign-up required.
